KATHERINE GIRLING

MASTER TRAINER AT ZUNA YOGA

Zuna Yoga has had the pleasure of leading several yoga teacher trainings each year at maoMeno since 2014. We return again and again for many reasons: the rustic simplicity, the quiet, the natural beauty of the island, the fantastic food, the warmth of the staff. You can feel the magical, peaceful energy of the place as soon as you pass through the gates. Each accommodation is unique and bursting with character. The island of Gili Meno is a special spot - still largely undeveloped and undisturbed, with by far the best beaches of the Gili Islands. Our students come to deeply appreciate the connection with nature, the slow pace and the separation from their hectic lifestyles at home. Lunch breaks and days off are spent in or under the water: swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, sailing, diving. For yogis, this is an ideal place to focus on self-discovery and find clarity as the noise of the outside world fades away.

SUSAN HORNING

DIRECTOR AT UNITY RETREATS

One of our main goals at Unity Retreats is to return to nature and that's the main reason we chose to retreat to MaoMeno.  We felt a deep connection with the natural surrounds during our visit, enjoying the calls of the birds, the moo of the cows, local fine foods, and the good company and service of the people of Gili Air.   We felt that MaoMeno had in place many of the eco-sustainable features that we strive to support - a plastic-free, energy and water conscious space where we felt safe to do our work, heal and connect with one anothe
